Question by Alissa: Can some DSLR cameras accept processing film, like what you would use in a normal SLR type camera?
I was just curious if there are some DSLR cameras that accept film that you can then bring to a pharmacist etc. to get developed (Like an SLR)
Or are they all simply just cameras where you take the photo and then it’s placed onto a memory card inside it?
Thank you!

Nope! It’s either film or digital, but not both.

No. DSLR stands for “digital” SLR, so the simplest way of putting it is that they are like your normal film SLR, but instead of taking film, it takes memory card.

There is, however, Kodak film camera digital backs that you can use on your film SLR to take digital pictures, but they are so old and outdated that you probably can’t find one, or even if you can find one in working, it’ll be so expensive since it’s a collector’s item now. Plus, you won’t be able to find the type of memory card it uses anyway, unless you go look for used one as well.

There are, but medium format. Hasselblads, mamiyas and such. You can interchange digital and film backs, but it’s either film or digital, only one. Price is too high for most people, only specialized pros.

If you like to shoot an occasional roll of film, get a decent 35mm, and that’s all. They are going cheap these days.
