I’ve been a photographer for about a decade and was ready to take the plunge to a more professional level camera. The T1i hasn’t disappointed me in the least, however I can see why people would save the extra $100 or $200 more to go up to the T2i or better yet the 50D, etc. That said, the T1i is a great weight for carrying as you go. The color “straight out of the camera” is incredible. The stock lens EF-S 18-55 is a great lens. I’d suggest it for anyone in a similar position.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is a great camera. Even used in auto as a point and shoot it takes fantastic photos plus gives you the ability to choose your own settings and the ability to change the lense as the need arises.

I have been a point and shoot camera guy for a long time, and have taken some good pictures. Now with the DSLR camera, EVERY picture is a great picture. So many features, so much to learn, but I love all of it.

The Camera is great, you might want to get a bigger memory card (High speed class 6 or better if you do a lot of sequence shooting) but other than that you can shoot pictures and take great HD video 1080P.

TriPod was good, not cheep.
