Daddy’s new toy

This is the Canon’s newly released EOS Digital Rebel XSi and it’s mine! A lot of factors converged to allow me to buy this sweet camera. I’ve been wanting a digital SLR for a long time, ever since I found myself taking more and more pictures with my Canon SD870 IS point-and-shoot camera. With the release of a brand new digital SLR by Canon (my favourite camera brand), my new job, a new inflow of income, the sale of my motorcycle, and a sale at a big box store, I just had to go and buy this camera today.
I ordered it online (for in-store pickup) and from the moment I ordered it and the moment I picked it up, the wait was almost unbearable. On the ride home from work, I kept looking out the window and seeing all these wonderful things that I could take pictures of. I can’t wait to take my brand new camera out into the world and see things from a whole new point of view!!!

Hi, just got mine yesterday. Exciting, isn’t it?
Ok – I hate to ask, since I bought my XTi not long ago (I knew the XSi would be coming out this spring), but what are the differences between the XSi and the XTi?

Seen on your photo stream. (?)
There’s a discussion here:

this is my first DSLR so I can’t compare them for you, sorry.
This is my first dSLR, too, so I don’t really know the specifics of what’s different. Here’s an in-depth preview that compares the XSi to the XTi:

I had been looking at the XTi for a while but then I heard that the XSi would be out early Spring so I waited (and read up all I could about the thing). I spent 3 hours reading through the manual last night and getting to know my new camera. I’m happy to say that I am very comfortable with my camera now. That doesn’t necessarily mean I can take professional photos, but at least I know how to use my camera and all it’s functions. I even went so far as to create my very first HDR image (being able to produce HDR images was a big factor in getting a dSLR).
If you have the XTi, don’t bother getting an XSi. If you have the XT, bypass the XSi and go straight to the 40D (or better). If you can’t afford a new camera right now, start saving money because Canon’s typical update cycle has been 18 months for their entry-level SLR camera (that means Nov/09 should see a new camera).
Congrats!
Great camera.
I started out with the Rebel xt.
