It depends on the type of camera that you are looking for. Do you want a point and shoot, a dSLR, a compact, or an ultracompact? Then you have to factor in what kind of pictures you plan on taking and so on. If you are looking for a good price/performance ratio, the Samsung NV11 will be perfect. It is a 10.1 megapixel which uses SD (not SDHC) and possibly MMC memory chips. It has its own battery so you do not need AA’s and you just charge it.
For dslr’s I like my Nikon D40x
For a more compact digital camera I prefer Canon or Panasonic.
