From set of 20: Canon EOS 1D Mark III 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only, i.e., no lens, no CF or SDHC cards). SN 504528 Canon DS126141. ASIN: B000NP1C5O
Condition: One owner (me) Used – Like New
Complete as I received it, with all original packaging, all software, 3 CDs, all manuals, battery pack LP-E4, dual battery charger LC-E4, AC adapter kit ACK-E4, video cable, USB Interface cable, caps, strap, etc.
There is only slight external cosmetic wear from my light personal use. The most salient evidence of wear will be marks where the neck strap attached to the camera using metal rings (not too smart). Slight scuffs on battery and LCD are cosmetic only.
I paid 99 on 4/18/2007. I have taken my best photos www.flickr.com/photos/mikebaird/ with this 1.3 crop-factor 10 frames-per-second Professional/Flagship DSLR.
Works as well as day one in every way. See actual photos of my unit at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikebaird/sets/72157625903195914/ <<===== update w/ better images from 5D2
Shutter activations: There is no way to read the shutter activations on the Canon 1D Mark III shy of Canon getting ahold of it and attaching some proprietary hardware, per the forums.
I honestly estimate I’ve taken maybe over 3.5 years * 365 days * 10 per day = 13K clicks. It should be good for 300K I recall.
Canon has four levels of SLR cameras: (1) Consumer/Entry-level (e.g., Rebel T2i), (2) Pro-sumer/Midrange (e.g., 60D) , (3) Pro-sumer/High-end (e.g., 7D and 5D Mark III), and (4) Professional/Flagship (e.g., 1D Mark III, IV,;1Ds Mark III); and the camera offered here is the Professional/Flagship body with outstanding auto-focus, and an ability to auto-focus to one full stop higher (f/8 vs. f/5.6), allowing, for example, the use of a Canon EF 1.4X Extender Telephoto Accessory, on the Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. There is now a 1D Mark IV (on Amazon for 29) which replaces my 1D Mark III. You are thus buying a camera one generation old, but greatly discounted. There is only slight external cosmetic wear from my light personal use.
Never exposed to rain or dropped in the dirt, etc.
My reputation is totally exposed on the Net so buyers can be able to trust me.
