New ZEISS Lenses for Nikon SLR cameras

Blogged here.
I chose this image to give you an idea with a 85mm f/1.4 looks like on a Nikon. Not that many people have the 0 it costs for the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D.

errr. They say they’re only making two lenses. 50 and 85mm.But there are 4 here. That and a "handful" will be announced. Too bad only the 85mm can be read.
Still. I’d probably just get the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 ver this 50mm.
@Tracer99: Whoops, I linked the wrong webpage.
If you look at the other images, The left one is the 50mm f/1.4. The center one is a macro lens (Makro-Planar® T* 2.8/60?) and the left one is a wide-angle lens (I can read the "Distagon" label just barely).
I hope this helps!
I get the idea that you’re excited about these new lenses. Zeiss lenses do make sweet music…
They’re enough to make me want to go Nikon…
!Blue! Yes, I think this is a great thing. And good construction can be appreciated no matter who designs and builds it.
However, since I have a D70 (no metering on MF lenses, tiny viewfinder, 1.5x crop factor) and Zeiss lenses have traditionally been pricey, I’m not planning on getting one.
I hope that they will design future lenses with the 1.5x crop factor we digital users have. I don’t care if they never support my D70 in particular, Zeiss MF Planar lenses have always been a niche that is beyond my abilities.
But if I were a zillionaire and had one of these, I would totally be drooling over the these lenses.
"Not that many people have the $900 it costs for the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D."
Well, most people with an F6 probably do.
That is a beautiful camera. But I left film a long time ago. I’d rather be picturing a D200 there.
zeiss lenses for nikon??
What a handsome!
is that real?
where can I look for them??
Just saw them on the zeiss website. Can´t wait for them!!
compared to Leica and even Canon L, even some Sigma glass, the prices are not bad at all and well worth it. Supposedly the 50mm may be the sharpest lens of all time – improved over the previous Contax version which was already considered and tested by some to be the sharpest lens. So . . . seems like they could be quite a good deal.
Online available now on the zeiss site. The 50mm is available for about 499 euro (without VAT)… Looking forward to see the first pictures taken with one of these beauties. Thinking of buying an old (and cheap) F4 in combination with the 50mm.
Das ist doch toll! Zeiss macht die besten Objektive der Welt (da kommen auch Nikon und Leica nicht ganz heran), so denkt ein alter Zeiss-Fan!
Oh, no! I’m salivating and am green with jealousy!
Hi, I’m an admin for a group called Glass, Brass, and Chrome, and we’d love to have your photo added to the group.
I had a chance to try the 85/1.4, 50/1.4, 35/2 and 28/2 for an afternoon. Superb build quality, look forward to seeing what they can do on FF.

Found in a search. (?)
I had both the Nikkor 85/1.4 and Zeiss ZF 85/1.4 for loan two weeks ago, and now I am done with the test shots.
I am going to buy that ZF 85/1.4 in January, it proved to be noteably sharper than the Nikkor wide open. Even if they were equal I’d probably buy the ZF because I don’t mind the manual focusing and the price is 300€ less for the Zeiss. Bokeh is subjective, I could not distinguish a favorite based only on out of focus rendering. The build quality is exquisite, the mechanical quality of the ZF reminded me of Leica lenses.
@mureena If you like these, remember to check out the new Cosina-Voightlander lenses when they come out for the Nikon DX.
Pure, pure heaven! And even a F6!!!!! My god, I will sleep restless tonight. Thank you for this lovely picture.
Gorgeous lenses, but If it’s quality you’re after, then you would use larger format cameras, Nikon make some outstanding lenses that are AF, Manual is a bit 1990′s. I use a D3s with the 85mm f/1.8, it does the job beautifully and i never miss a shot with the AF.
…that’s all on my christmas whishlist, what a tough crew
amazing..)
