I have a film Canon slr the eos rebel GII. I am thinking of buying the Canon EOS Rebel T1i and I want to know if my lens from the film camera will work on the digital camera?

Sure it can,it seems that is not too easy to find a camera to fit it ,but you can go to the canon site to find it ,good luck!
Yes, they are both EF mounts. The one thing you have to remember about using older 35mm lenses with the T1i is that you have to multiply the focal lenght by 1.6 because the sensor is smaller than the original 35mm film. What this means is that a 18-200mm lens on the T1i would become a 28.8-320mm lens and a 50mm lens would become a 80mm lens.
eos rebel is not “old canon slr” – that would be canon FD.
But to answer your question, all eos EF lenses (not eos EF-S lenses) work on all eos cameras (film or digital, it doesn’t matter)
