You know how your mom taught you to keep your word no matter what? I tell my kids that their word is all they have so always be honest.

I used to work for Ritz Camera (years ago) and loved the company. It was a good company that always kept their word. In fact I got in a wreck with them and they covered the entire amount to fix my car. Now I could have sued them big time for making me drive, not giving me insurance, or covering expenses etc. None the less they were a good company. Our DS (District Superintendent) or maybe Area Manager as I don’t remember anymore was a good guy and he kept his word. I don’t recall his name anymore, but my manager was Andy Lindquist or Lundquist was also an awesome guy that was true to his word just like the company. I worked in Dallas and had a blast at Ritz camera.

Now I was going to take Ritz Camera up on their offer of low price guarantee since buydig.com was beating them pretty bad on a Nikon D80. My wife called the number on the website and she was told they won’t match the price because it is a hot selling item.

I then went to the online live help at Ritz Camera, to which they asked me questions like do they charge for shipping, do they charge tax. This guy took almost 15 minutes of my time because his responses were slow.

In the end the online Ritz Camera guy said they can’t honor their low price guarantee because this is a hot item online. So I am disappointed to say that Ritz Camera no longer is a company of their word. They can’t even compete with the smaller online companies, they are truly a big business that no longer cares about customers, but their bottom line. They forget it is about the people and if you keep the people happy they keep coming back.

Ritz Camera, you need to be a company of your word just like your mom taught you. It is all you have.
