Question by Recycle M: What camera equipment to use to capture images to be used in TV news broadcasting?
We want to supply building images and supply to a TV broadcasting company which will be using in their news bulltin broadcasting segments. What type camera and in what format it must be captured and supplied to them? This images are without audio or voice over. Only images the TV station wanted to air during news broadcasting?

The best possible way to find out is to call the station and ask.

I have sent JPG images, and I have also had the TV crews come to the lab and just video tape a print. The JPG’s are from digital cameras at 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 MP, depending on who took the picture. Either way will work, although sending them a JPG image would be easiest for both of you.

You can use any camera you wish for still images, although you obviously want something with a little better quality than a cell phone camera. Any modern digital from a real camera company will work, a cheap Kodak would be as good as a $ 7,000 DSLR for this purpose. Even if your image is displayed at full screen, it is still no more than 2MP on TV. Well lit and sharp focus would be the two main requirements.
