What is a digital SR and how does it differ from a digital SLR?
Question by Brian b: What is a digital SR and how does it differ from a digital SLR?
Other than there being a mirror involved in the Digital SLR, what makes it different from a digital SR? And what is a digital SR?
My point and shoot Pentax Optio A40 has an option on it that says “Digital SR.” I’m just trying to find out what this means.

I have never heard of a digital SR .. that would literally mean Digital Single Reflex and that means nothing in the area of photography or cameras. If you give us a link to the site where you saw this type camera, we may be able to help.
SLR means Single Lens Reflex and indicates that the camera allows the photographer to view the shot through the actual taking lens vs. a TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) in which the photographer views the shot through a different lens than the one that actually focuses the image on the film.
