What lens do I need for my Canon SLR camera for internal house photos?
Question by tom r: What lens do I need for my Canon SLR camera for internal house photos?
Hi
I have a Digital 350D Canon SLR camera and need a lens for doing internal house photos – often I find it difficult to get the entire room in sufficiently with the lens that came with it.
Can anyone offer any advice on what I need as im completely clueless!
Many thanks!!!

Well the widest Canon lens you can get is the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. It’s harder to get much wider than that. There are a few third party lens makers that make lenses that are wider than that, but they are almost always going to be a fisheye lens… which is something I don’t think you’ll want. You’ll have to use Photoshop to correct the images to make them rectilinear.
If you are doing it as/for a business, I would strongly recommend getting a Canon EOS 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM. That combination is much better suited for interior shots (but also much more expensive). The 16-35mm on a 5D gives you exactly the same view as the 10-22mm on the 350D, but benefits from the larger aperture and better build quality and the 5D performs better in a low light situation. Another lens to consider for the 5D would be the EF 14mm f/2.8 L USM. On a 5D, it would give you a wider view than the 10-22mm on a 350D would give.
What do you think? Answer below!
