Where can I buy a lens cap for a Canon SLR
Question by Wibb: Where can I buy a lens cap for a Canon SLR
My son has a Canon EOS 400D SLR camera. He got the 18-55mm lens with it. He was recently on a camping trip and has come back without the cap for the lens. I am worried the lens with get scratched if we don’t buy a new cap. Although we’ve looked in quite a few shops, we can’t find any. Any there any online shops that would sell them?
Thank you.

First, do you have a UV filter on the lens … this is the first defense against lens damage. Most camera shops that sell Canon DSLR’s have lens caps in stock … If you are there buying a UV filter I am sure they can help you … it may be a 55 mm generic cap, but better than nothing.

You should be able to find them at any camera store. By camera store I mean a camera store, not a big electronics store.
If you can’t find it in any stores then you can certainly find them on ebay for a few bucks – just make sure to get the right size for the lens.
I’m assuming the lens has a 58mm filter thread. Look on the front of the lens and it should have a 0 with a slash through it and then a number.
If it says 58, this is the cap for you. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_p?url=search-alias%3Dphoto&field-keywords=canon+58mm+lens+cap&x=0&y=0
